Cellist and teacher Danielle Merlis created "The Cello Camp" to share her passion for playing the cello with young musicians. Participants will improve their cello technique and music reading skills, and they will also experience a unique cello ensemble that will combine classical training with a contemporary approach. The 2026 program will run in Southport, CT August 17th-August 22nd from 10am-3pm daily except for Saturday (1-5pm). A typical day will include including group lessons, ensemble rehearsals, music skill building activities and a one hour lunch break. The final day of both programs will feature a Saturday evening concert at 5pm for family and friends, and will include guest performers who will collaborate with the young cellists in a spirited program that is not to be missed!

The program is open to all beginner-advanced level cellists entering grades 4-12. At least one year of experience is recommended.
