the cello camp is going virtual!
We are excited to announce that the camp will take place virtually in 2020, our sixth summer! Cellist and teacher Danielle Merlis created "The Cello Camp" in 2015 to share her passion for playing the cello with young musicians, and the tradition continues.
Our summer 2020 program, which will launch online August 23rd, invites young cellists to spend a week working with our cello faculty to improve their cello playing in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. Our daily sessions will include cello technique, music reading skills, and activities to help campers expand their knowledge of music theory, music history, and composition. We look forward to welcoming campers, old and new to join us for a week of fun and learning.
****NEW THIS YEAR**** Our final performance will be a virtual concert (pre-recorded) in which our campers will perform two pieces arranged for cello ensemble. The final video will be distributed at the end of camp and it can be shared with family and friends.
Dates: August 23rd-August 28th
Times: 4:00-5:15pm daily (if you can’t make it at that time--no worries! You can still participate. All sessions will be recorded to accommodate conflicts).
